Rock and Roll – The Story Behind the Print

Rock and Roll captures a pair of Hawks from RAF Valley flying in formation through the A5 Pass in North Wales.

The subject has a personal connection for Michael Rondot, who recalls flying the route many times in both Hawk and Jaguar aircraft and describes it as having a character unlike anywhere else in the UK.

Rondot also recalls that the best students at RAF Valley could get the opportunity to fly the A5 Pass in formation, creating the inspiration for the two aircraft shown in the painting.
