Description

Constant Endeavour – The Story Behind the Print

Constant Endeavour portrays two Short Sunderland flying boats making a low pass over Castle Archdale in Northern Ireland during the Battle of the Atlantic.

Michael Rondot deliberately shows the aircraft weathered by long exposure to the elements, reflecting the demanding maritime environment in which the Sunderland and its crews operated.

The scene is a tribute to the long-range patrols flown in support of Allied shipping and the crews who spent extended periods operating over the Atlantic.

The standard print is signed by Michael Rondot. Publisher Proofs also carry the signatures of Squadron Leader Dick Dulieu DFC and Squadron Leader Don Gray DFC, subject to availability.
