Juno Beach – The Story Behind the Print
Anthony Saunders’s Juno Beach depicts two Spitfire Mk IXb fighters of No. 412 Squadron RCAF fly low over Juno Beach as Canadian troops land during the Normandy invasion on 6 June 1944.
Landing craft, armour and supporting aircraft converge in this tribute to the Canadian assault on D-Day, when Allied forces fought to secure a foothold on the Normandy coast.
