Michael Rondot’s Concorde Farewell is a tribute to an aircraft whose combination of speed, shape and presence made it one of the most recognisable airliners ever built.
The painting was created around Concorde’s retirement in November 2003 and concentrates on the elegant lines and power that distinguished the Anglo-French supersonic aircraft.
Concorde combined its slender fuselage and delta wing with four Rolls-Royce/Snecma Olympus engines and the familiar droop nose used to improve visibility during take-off and landing.
