Originally conceived as a trainer, the Anglo-French Jaguar developed into a major part of the RAF’s tactical strike, attack and reconnaissance force from the mid-1970s.
The contributors discuss the aircraft’s strengths and shortcomings, squadron life, losses and the continuing development that made the Jaguar readily deployable for post-Cold War operations.
The book also covers combat experience during the Gulf War and later operations in the Balkans, capturing the loyalty and affection the aircraft inspired within its community.
