Sutton led No. 1 (Fighter) Squadron on operations against ISIS in 2015. His RAF career also included flying the Jaguar, serving as a Typhoon instructor and tactics instructor, introducing new precision weapons and operational service in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria.
Rather than concentrating solely on aircraft technology, the book explores training, selection, relationships, fear, leadership and the camaraderie of a frontline squadron. Sutton also discusses failing to gain RAF entry on his first attempt before eventually reaching Wing Commander and being awarded the OBE in 2017.
