Jaguars Over Kilduff – The Story Behind the Print

Jaguars Over Kilduff captures the aircraft in the environment with which it became closely associated: fast, low-level flying.

The four-ship formation is shown over southern Scotland at around 450 knots and 250 feet, with aircraft representing Nos. 6, 41(F) and 54(F) Squadrons from RAF Coltishall against a late-afternoon sunset.

The print has particularly strong connections with No. 41 Squadron. Air Chief Marshal Sir John Thomson commanded the squadron when it reformed with Jaguars in 1976, while Group Captain Steve Griggs later commanded No. 41 Squadron and survived two ejections from Jaguars.
