Last Man In – The Story Behind the Print

Darryl Legg’s Last Man In portrays the final Sea Harrier attacking Port Stanley airfield on 1 May 1982 during the Falklands conflict.

Nine Sea Harriers from 800 Naval Air Squadron attacked the airfield. Flight Lieutenant David Morgan, flying the last aircraft to attack, faced fully alert airfield defences and approached at extremely low level.

Despite being hit by 20 mm anti-aircraft fire, Morgan escaped at less than 30 feet above the runway and returned safely to HMS Hermes.

Morgan ended the conflict with four confirmed aerial victories and was subsequently awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (DSC). The limited edition of 300 prints is individually signed by Lt Cdr David Morgan DSC.
