Michael Rondot’s The Mighty Hunter pays tribute to the Nimrod MR2 and the air and ground crews associated with RAF Nimrod operations.
Developed from the de Havilland Comet 4 to replace the Avro Shackleton, Nimrod variants served in anti-submarine warfare, electronic intelligence, maritime surveillance, anti-surface operations and search and rescue.
The aircraft operated during the Falklands War and subsequent conflicts including the Gulf War, the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan. The original product record also highlights the long-range South Atlantic reconnaissance mission flown by Nimrod MR2 XV232 in May 1982.
The edition is limited to 250 artist-signed and numbered copies, including Artist’s Proofs and Remarque prints, with a further 25 canvas prints.
