Robert Taylor’s Viper Venom portrays F-16s from the 31st and 52nd Air Expeditionary Wings climbing out of Aviano Air Base in northern Italy during Operation Allied Force.
The original product record centres on the 31 May 1999 mission period over southern Kosovo, when Lieutenant Colonel David “Fingers” Goldfein served as Mission Commander and Forward Air Controller around the Mount Pastrik area.
Taylor researched the painting during visits to Aviano and with first-hand input from operational F-16 pilots, using their experience to shape the aircraft and operational setting shown in the finished work.
Each print is individually signed by Major General Michael R. Boera and General David L. Goldfein, both identified in the product record as F-16 fighter leaders who flew combat missions during Operation Desert Storm and Operation Allied Force.
