Black Jet captures the unmistakable F-117A Nighthawk and its connection with the opening nights of the 1991 Gulf War.
Developed from “Have Blue” technology at Lockheed’s Skunk Works, the F-117A had already been in USAF service for several years before the aircraft was publicly revealed. Operation Desert Storm then brought its unusual faceted appearance and precision-strike role to a worldwide audience.
Night after night, F-117A crews flew over heavily defended targets in Iraq, putting the aircraft’s low-observable concept into operational use.
The signature content is a major feature of this edition. Each copy is signed by the artist and 24 F-117A “Bandit” pilots, including the commander of the Gulf War unit, and is supplied with a certificate of authentication listing the signatories.
