The Longest Minute depicts RAF Jaguars attacking a Silkworm missile site in Kuwait during the Gulf War. For many years the original painting was one of only two works retained by Michael Rondot in his private collection.
The scene is a tribute not only to the Jaguar pilots operating in demanding combat conditions, but also to the engineers who kept the aircraft flying throughout the campaign.
The original multi-signed edition carried the individual signatures of all 22 RAF Jaguar pilots who flew combat missions during the Gulf War. That edition is now sold out.
The remaining Publisher Proofs have been released signed and numbered by Michael Rondot, so the distinction between the historic sold-out multi-signed edition and the copies currently available is clearly shown above.
